109 entries from APAC have been selected by its juries of top global creative leaders as finalists for the historic ADC 100th Annual Awards.
All finalists will receive a Gold, Silver, Bronze Cube or Merit at this year’s ADC 100th Annual Awards, to be announced on June 9 during the online Creative Week 2021.
Mainland China: 55 finalists
Tencent Shenzhen leads mainland China with 12 ADC 100th finalists for five different entries. Working with Linkfilms Shanghai, Tencent has four finalists for Tencent Youth Science Festival “IMARS Cinema”, and three with 25 Hours Guangzhou for Tencent Charity/99 Giving Day “Hope for Hometown”.
Tencent also has two finalists with Stink Studios Shanghai and MassiveMusic K.K. Tokyo for WeChat+The Great Wall “Moonments”, two with Rudo Company Buenos Aires and Stink Studios Shanghai for United Nations-2030 SDGs “The Penguin & The Whale”, and one with Stink Studios Shanghai for “Micro Universe” on behalf of Tencent WE Summit.
The Nine Shanghai has three ADC 100th finalists: two for Yan Ji You Bookstore “Guess Which Book Is It?”, and one for “Waste-sorting Blind Box” on behalf of STDecaux/The Environmental Protection Department.
Others in mainland China with two ADC 100th finalists are Amber China Shanghai, Another Design Guangzhou, Bofeng Liao Shenzhen, Birger Linke Design Beijing, L3 Branding Beijing, Minmin Qu & Qian Jiang Nanjing, Nanjing Han Qing Tang Design Nanjing, Quinsay Design Hang Zhou, SeeekLab Xiamen, Somei Design Shanghai, The End Design Guangzhou, Tian Bo Guangzhou, and Xiaomi Beijing,
Hong Kong: 4 finalists
With one ADC 100th finalist each is. Oddity Studio Hong Kong for House of Wang branding – logo, Dillon M. Banda Hong Kong for Dillon & Co / SoundChips “Ashima”, Mak Kai Hang Kowloon for Sandu Publishing “Asia-Pacific Design 16”, and studioWMW Hong Kong for “Gift for Your Beloved” on behalf of Polytrade Paper Corporation Ltd.
India: 1 finalist
Ananya Khaitan New Delhi has India’s only ADC 100th finalist for “Awaaz / Essential Interference” on behalf of Sukanya Baskar.
Japan: 31 finalists
Dentsu Tokyo has 11 ADC 100th finalists for 10 different entries, including two with J.C. Spark Tokyo for AEON Fantasy “Whose Poo?”.
Goo Choki Par Tokyo has two finalists, one for Issey Miyake “Homme Plissé Issey Miyake ‘Session’ “, and the other for the “Planet of the Typos” personal project.
Ouwn Tokyo has two, one for Matsukaze Tea branding and the other for Abunotsuru “Miyoshi Hana”. Studeo Jinguumae also has two finalists, both for “Leather-made Jewelry” on behalf of Tanners’ Council of Japan.
Macau: 3 finalists
Indego Design Macau has all three ADC 100th finalists for the country. One is for poster design on behalf of Estabelecimento De Comidas Vah Thai, and two are for Naughty Roll: one each for “Golden Rat Postcard Sets” and “Imbalance”.
Singapore: 5 finalists
Foreign Policy Design Group Singapore has two ADC 100th finalists, both for Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF) branding.
Others with one finalist are Cindy I-Hsuan Wang Singapore, Factory Singapore and The LEGO Group Singapore.
Taiwan: 8 finalists
+ing Taipei has two ADC 100th finalists, both for “Mouse Light Fun” on behalf of the Department of Information and Tourism, Taipei City Government.
Others with one finalist selection each are Bito Taipei, Cheng li Yen Changhua Taiwan (R.O.C), Goeun Park and Wei-Hao Wang Taipei, Ken-tsai Lee with Po-En Wang Taipei, Tzu-Ning Hsu Tainan and Wang Zhihong Studio Taipei.
Vietnam: 1 finalist
Behalf Studio Ho Chi Minh City has Vietnam’s ADC 100th finalist selection for the self-promotional Republish Project “Republish: Typography As… Exhibition”.
Globally, Spotify In-House New York leads the world with 19 ADC 100th finalists, including 10 for “Alone with Me”, five for “Your 2020 Wrapped”, and one each for “Duos”, “Listening Together”, “Save Our Stages” and “Thank You Listeners”.
Goodby Silverstein & Partners San Francisco and The New York Times Magazine New York each have 18 finalists, BBDO Group Germany Duesseldorf and FCB Chicago have 16 each, and DDB Paris and FCB New York each have 14.
The entry receiving the most finalists selections with 12 is “Michelob ULTRA Courtside” by FCB New York for Michelob ULTRA, Microsoft and the NBA, followed by City of Chicago “Boards of Change” by FCB Chicago with 11.
In the lead-up to the awards ceremony, The One Club will announce all Best of Discipline winners for the ADC 100th Annual Awards on June 2. Members of creative teams responsible for a select group of top winners will discuss the work with jury members in live streaming sessions on June 9.
