InMobi detikcom enter mobile ad partnership

With an aim to bring richer, more interactive and engaging mobile ad experiences to consumers in Indonesia, InMobi has entered into a two year exclusive partnership with Indonesia’s first and largest news portal detikcom. Under this InMobi will exclusively represent mobile advertising sales for detikcom mobile apps. This will allow the detikcom mobile consumer base to check out rich media mobile ads. With this detikcom becomes the first publisher in the country to bring HTML5 mobile advertising to our consumers on such a large scale.

Talking about the tie up, Gerry Leo Nugroho, group head of marketing service at detikcom, said “detikcom is dedicated to bringing best of breed technology and services to our increasingly tech-savvy, on-the-go users. Carrying up-to-the-minute breaking news to more than 2.2 million consumers on smart devices alone, we wanted a mobile ad network with the global reach and local market experience to provide the best brand experiences to our growing mobile consumer base. InMobi’s rich media capabilities combined with evolving smartphone and tablet technologies will allow advertisers to realise truly engaging and easy to navigate mobile-optimized ad formats.”

detikcom is one of the leading Internet destinations in Indonesia with over 25 million page views per day, as well as more than 2.2 million users on smart devices. Indonesia’s growing mobile web user base has resulted in more and more digital content being accessed via mobile devices. The InMobi-detikcom partnership covers all traffic to detikcom’s iOS and Android applications for both smartphones and tablet devices.

“This is a significant milestone for InMobi and for our customers in Indonesia. Combining our extensive network with Indonesia’s number one digital destination gives our agencies and advertisers tremendous reach across key Indonesian markets and premium consumer segments. This partnership further reinforces InMobi’s leadership position in Indonesia and the region for local rich media advertising inventory and our reputation as a trusted partner for publishers in Southeast Asia,” said Phalgun Raju, regional director and general manager – Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan for InMobi.

Recent InMobi research has shown that 82 percent of mobile web users in Indonesia are primarily or exclusively accessing the web via their mobile devices. In addition, more than half of mobile web users in Indonesia are comfortable with receiving mobile advertising and over two-thirds of these users have had their purchasing behaviour influenced by it. “With a ready consumer base, the market is ripe for mobile innovation. We are excited to be able to bring our interactive rich media offerings to local consumers at such a scale,” Raju added.
