It’s raining awards for leading agencies in the region. It seems that when it comes to creativity and campaign effectiveness, the teams down under are getting it right. Not one but Australian arms of two leading agencies Starcom MediaVest and JWT have won leading awards for their campaigns on a global platform.
On one hand, Starcom MediaVest Australia has won the Agency of the Year at the 2012 Festival of Media in Montreux, Switzerland. This is the third consecutive time that the agency has won this top media award. The agency is proud to announce that this is a feat that has not been achieved by any agency in Australia. “It’s also worth considering that 880 entries were submitted from across the world for just 13 awards. For us to receive five shortlists and convert two of these to an award anda commendation is a fantastic achievement. For Starcom Australia to have won for three consecutive years on the global stage is even more impressive. Very few agencies in the world can lay claim to this level of consistent global product excellence,” said John Sintras, CEO, Starcom MediaVest Australia.
On the other JWT Melbourne has won two Yellow Pencil awards for its “Wi Fiction” campaign for the Melbourne Writers Festival in the mobile marketing category. Its sister agency JWT Shanghai has won three Yellow Pencils awards for the Heaven and Hell campaign for luggage brand Samsonite. JWT Vietnam also earned a place “In the Book” at the D&AD’s for Killer Sneeze, for United Pharma Vietnam. Praising the team for this achievement Michael Meadel, President, JWT Asia Pacific said, “It’s an incredible feat at this highly competitive awards show. I’m extremely proud of our team.”
