SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, has appointed Ogilvy Public Relations Singapore as its communications and public relations agency in Singapore and SilkAir’s regional key markets for a one-year period.
The appointment, which commenced as August 1 2013, was made after a competitive pitch, with Ogilvy PR’s remit covering corporate branding and promotional support around SilkAir’s 25th Anniversary celebrations in 2014. This is in line with their historic delivery of up to 68 new Boeing 737-800 aircrafts – the biggest aircraft order in SilkAir’s history.
“The year 2014 is set to be a milestone year for our airline. With our 25th Anniversary celebrations coupled with the upcoming delivery of our new Boeing fleet, we’re looking forward to a truly exciting time for the company. To join us on this journey, we’re pleased to be partnering Ogilvy Public Relations, who shares our passion for travel and exploration, and whose creativity and enthusiasm are infectious,” said SilkAir’s Chief Executive, Leslie Thng.
Ogilvy PR Singapore’s Managing Director, Andrew Thomas added, “We are especially proud to be working with such an incredible and respected brand. The 25th year anniversary of SilkAir is a historic milestone and we believe there is much to celebrate and promote. This partnership is a great opportunity for us to work together to further elevate the SilkAir brand to new heights across Asia.”
