In keeping with AdAsia’s tradition of choosing the country that would host the Congress by way of a bid process, AdAsia 2013 concluded with three countries making a pitch for why they should host the forum in 2017. AdAsia, which is a bi-annual event, takes place every odd year. The 2015 forum was decided in 2011, when Taiwan had won the bid. This year, the winning country is Indonesia and Bali will play host to AdAsia 2017.
The three countries – Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines – made a pitch presentation to the AdAsia 2013 audience. The three countries presented ideas on the forum, the city where the Congress could be hosted and the reasons why it would attract delegates.
“The AFAA committee and all members were in agreement that Indonesia’s bid was well thought through and enticing. By way of winning majority of the votes, Indonesia won the bid to host the forum in 2017,” said Pradeep Guha, Chairman, Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA).
As is known, AdAsia 2013 is hosted by AFAA. This year, the event was held in Hanoi in Vietnam and concluded on November 14, 2013. The four-day festival had seen over 1000 delegates coming from various markets of the region. The host country Vietnam, was applauded to being able to successfully conclude the forum. In Taiwan, the event is scheduled to take place from November 9 to November 13, 2015.
