BBDO Asia has appointed Andrew Chu as Executive Creative Director of BBDO Vietnam.
Mr Chu joins BBDO from GREYnJ United in Bangkok where he was instrumental in growing the agency’s business and reputation locally and globally. He is the first and only creative in the agency’s history to bring in three Cannes Lions in under three years, and is passionate about delivering campaigns that are highly creative and effective.
He has had a career spanning over 12 years at some of Australia’s and Thailand’s best agencies. During his time at GREYnJ, he was the creative lead on global and local clients including P&G’s Head & Shoulders, Volvo, Tic Tac, Bar-B-Q Plaza, to name a few.
Mr Chu returns to the BBDO Network, having been part of the highly effective creative team at Clemenger BBDO Sydney, where he worked on major clients including Virgin Australia, Toshiba, Mars Foods, PepsiCo, Foxtel, and Tourism Australia. While at Clemenger BBDO, he was part of the team responsible for winning the agency’s first Gold Cannes Lion in over 20 years, among other local and international accolades.
“We’re very excited to welcome Andrew to BBDO Vietnam. His proven leadership, endless energy, award winning pedigree, and extensive experience working in multiple markets regionally, will set a new standard for our creative work benefiting both our clients and the Agency as a whole,” said Giao Phan, Managing Director, BBDO Vietnam.
“Having spent the majority of my career within the Network, I’m excited to return to the BBDO family and culture where everyone truly puts the Work at the heart of everything they do. When I first met Giao, we really clicked, as it was clear from the outset that we shared the same vision and passion for creating the very best creative work in Vietnam and I can’t wait to join forces and develop ideas that’ll resonate locally, but are recognized internationally. Together, we’re going to demonstrate BBDO Vietnam’s ability to deliver world-class ideas, a positive impact, and effective solutions for all our clients – present and future,” said Mr Chu.
Mr Chu’s appointment is effective as of January 15, 2018.
