Cathay Pacific to improve inflight retail experience

In order to offer better inflight shopping experience to its passengers Cathay Pacific and its subsidiary Dragonair have opted for onboard retail and payment technology solutions from GuestLogix. Under the agreement, GuestLogix’s partner in APAC, Inflight Sales Group Hong Kong will deploy the onboard retail technology platform fleet-wide including POS handheld devices to manage Cathay Pacific and Dragonair’s onboard retail operations.

“This new agreement with Cathay Pacific and Dragonair is the beginning of a tremendous shift for GuestLogix in Asia Pacific. Cathay is a brand that is a real pacesetter in the region and is often recognized for its best-in-class onboard experience. Many other large carriers model their onboard operations after Cathay Pacific. And with the addition of Dragonair in this implementation, we have our first large-scale payment processing activity in mainland China,” said Brett Proud, president & CEO of GuestLogix.

The aircrafts will be equipped with GuestLogix’ PCI-compliant handheld POS devices to accept major credit cards for the purchase of duty-free items onboard flights to nearly 80 passenger destinations in 29 countries. Cathay Pacific is also looking to improve its customer services, retail experience, and customer insights by implementing the OnTouch Analytics.
