Dentsu Sports Asia appointed as the Commercial Partner for Joseph Schooling

Dentsu Sports Asia (“DSA”) has been officially appointed by The Schooling Company, exclusive agent for Joseph Schooling, as the commercial partner for Joseph Schooling for the next stage of his swimming career after turning professional as of the 25th March 2018.

Recently finishing his last collegiate meet at the University of Texas this March, Mr Schooling first rose to national prominence after winning the gold at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games. In the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Mr Schooling stunned the swimming world with a new Olympic record, beating Michael Phelps in the 100m butterfly, and bringing home Singapore’s first ever Olympic gold medal.

Heading the DSA operations is Kunihito Morimura (CEO & President of DSA), a sports marketing professional bringing over 20 years of experience in Asia’s sports business industry. DSA will work to assist Mr Schooling in a variety of areas in his journey as a professional swimmer. Areas of responsibility include advising and managing commercial and strategic opportunities, on-ground support of the swimmer during major events, advising on the training facilities prior to the swimmer’s major competitions and developing Mr Schooling’s social responsibility initiatives throughout the region.

Mr Schooling now sets his sights on the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang in August 2018.
