Have you planned your next holiday destination? Following the hectic lifestyle of urban Indians, people look forward to what travel and tourism has to offer and this trend calls for a need of organised hospitality management system in India. To address the same, Reznext has entered the Indian market to get more independent property owners online.
Reznext enjoys a base of 2500 properties under its umbrella and is expecting a growth rate of 300-400 per cent per month. Being an early bird in the Indian market, the company seeks to take full advantage of the opportunities exploding in the Indian hospitality market place. “We want to make distribution easy and effective for the hotelier and take out the complexity out of a very complex market,” said Mike Kistner, Chief Executive Officer of Reznext. But how is it going to achieve the same?
“In India there are a large number of demand generators like the OTAs (Online Travel Agencies) such as goibibo, Yatra, Cleartrip, makemytrip.com, etc and many international players as well. But the only hotels which are able to take advantage of these sites are some of the larger chains that have organised rates, availability and good online content with images,” pointed Mr Kistner.
There are about 20,000-30,000 indepedent hospitality players in the market with low or no connectivity. These demand generators are not connected on a real time basis for rates, availability, images, room description and special promotions.
But Reznext is a distribution platform that assists independent property owners to make reservations in real time using last minute availability. Then the reservation details are uploaded on its property management system. Thus, reducing the errors such as wrong name or wrong date when the consumer is making reservation through email or a call.
Reznext has also taken into consideration that the Indian market is very different in terms of requirement for online distribution from the other markets. “The Indian market is looking for a product that connects independent property owners to consumers. So, we need to provide them an intelligent distribution platform that allows them to easily maintain rates and availability,” added Mr Kistner.
Reznext is committed to ensure that property owners understand their return on investment, have an online booking channel, and have tools to intellectually and professionally manage their distribution process of property. The ease of use and connectivity are pressing issues in the Indian hospitality industry and Reznext seeks to address the same via its online offering.
The platform has not ignored issues related to internet connectivity as only eight to 10 per cent of the bookings are taking place online in India. However, the future looks promising and has a huge opportunity as the number is expected to grow 44 per cent in the coming year. Therefore, it is imperative for independent properties to get themselves on the online platform if they want to take advantage of this opportunity, explains Mr Kistner.
Among one of its most recent innovations, Reznext has brought on board a ‘Reputation Management System’ in-built on its platform which will be based on the owner’s reputation score and track their response to consumer views and insights on the social media front. Further, its revenue management service is expected to help property owners organise their business better. Mr Kistner added that Reznext has more launches lined-up in the coming months which will bring more hoteliers online and make the Indian hospitality industry more tech-savvy.
