JWT strengthens presence in Pakistan

Realizing the growing importance of digital marketing services in Pakistan, JWT has agreed to acquire stake in Converge Technologies in the country. 90 people strong Converge Technologies, provides a wide spectrum of digital, social and mobile marketing services in the country. With this acquisition in place, JWT will be able to further strengthen its dominant position in Pakistan, where it ranks among the largest creative ad agencies.

In fact the agency recognizes Pakistan as one of the key growing economies in the region.  “As one of the “Next 11” growth economies, Pakistan is very strategic market for JWT. This deal adds yet more momentum to our regional digital growth strategy. We will continue to add depth and breadth to our Asian digital offerings over the coming months,” said Michael Maedel, president of JWT Asia Pacific.  been

In fact JWT Asia Pacific as a company has been going strong in acquiring companies throughout the region that bolsters its digital marketing services to its clients. JWT signed an agreement in 2011 to acquire A4A, one China’s most dynamic digital and social media marketing companies; and on March 12 announced that XM Asia, a JWT company, acquired Magnivate, Indonesia’s leading digital agency.

With this in Pakistan, the agency will include Converge’s basket of services into its portfolio of offerings including digital media strategy, social media planning and management, platform, content, technology enablement, game and app development, mobility campaign planning and execution. “This partnership will put both Converge and JWT Pakistan in a position to leverage each other’s strengths and scale up our integrated offering for our clients,” said Mansoor Karim Shaikh, CEO of JWT Pakistan. In fact the agency will also get access to Converge’s existing clients including Unilever, PTCL, Mobilink, HP, Bank Alfalah, Nokia and Pakistan State Oil.
