Manoj Kohli has stepped down as the Non-executive Director of Bharti Airtel and Shirshir Priyadarshi has been appointed as an independent director, according to a notice on the Bombay Stock Exchange’s website.
Mr Kohli joined Bhati Airtel in 2002 and held various positions under his belt. He is responsible for leading new initiatives of 3G and Airtel Money in all markets of Bharti Airtel. His resignation marks his formal exit from the telecom circuit.
His earlier stints include Shriram Group including Shriram Honda and Executive Director at AlliedSignal/Honeywell before joining Bharti Airtel.
Mr Kohli will continue to look after the other businesses of Bharti Enterprises such as retail, financial services, agri-products, real estate, mobile internet etc as the Managing Director, the post he acquired in April 2014.
