Omnicom Media Group (OMG) will promote Mark Halliday to the CEO, Performance role.
“Mark Halliday will be taking on a new leadership role that will further strengthen our important Performance offering in the region. The move comes with the departure of long-term digital vet, Lee Smith, who leaves to create his own venture.
Mr Chiang added, “Lee is returning to his entrepreneurial roots. We wish him well and cannot thank him enough for the capabilities he has ignited across our agencies in the region over the last 10 years.”
Mr Smith oversaw the growth of digital from its infancy as well as the launch of Airwave Mobile, Resolution Media, Accuen (now OMG Programmatic) and most recently, Annalect across APAC.
Mr Smith commented, “I’m off… but with the support of the leadership team in APAC. We’ve been working on an agreeable exit together that ensures continuity for the business as well as the opportunity for me to break out on my own.”
Mr Halliday added, “We have tremendous talent around the region across data, digital execution and measurement. I’m looking forward to taking on a wider remit to further build out our credentials and bring added differentiation to our Performance capabilities in APAC.”
