Mindshare, the global media agency network that is part of WPP, has appointed Shankar Rajagopal as the Leader of Mindshare Vietnam.
With marketing communications experience of 19 years, Mr Rajagopal has been Purple with passion for the past 9 years. After leading the Unilever Malaysia account for over 4 years, he moved to the dynamic China market in early 2014 to head the L’Oréal China account, where he learnt the ropes on how to lead large-scaled teams. His Mindshare journey continues into the exciting and growing market of Vietnam as the Country Leader based out of Ho Chi Minh City.
Before entering into the world of media agencies, Mr Rajagopal thrived in market research in addition to honing his skills in marketing.
Mr Rajagopal looks forward to leading the Mindshare Vietnam team to success especially in the fast-growing areas of data, content, and technology – areas where he has led teams, in the past, to win accolades at various regional and global forums. He firmly believes that Mindshare is not just a media agency, in fact, it’s a strategic business partner for its clients and he encourages his talents to talk ‘business, not media’ with clients. For him, collaboration is key to long-lasting partnerships not only with his clients, but also with media partners and WPP group agencies.
Mr Rajagopal’s mantra is ‘Kaizen’ – continuous improvement to which he tries to apply in every walk of life, personal or professional. His biggest passion is travelling, which took him to more than 25 countries and many more on his to-do list. He has always wanted to know what makes a particular person or place tick, and this insatiable curiosity about humankind has helped him learn a lot about life in general.
