To make most of the potential growth of digital marketing space in Thailand, mInteraction, the digital unit of GroupM Thailand, has bolstered its top executive team. The agency has appointed Siwat Chawareewong as chief executive officer and Niklas Stalberg as chief operating officer.
Talking about the new talent in the company, CEO Chawareewong said, “mInteraction is now the largest digital agency in Thailand and we are always looking for great talent to join our company. To add the position of Chief Operating Officer and get Niklas onboard is enabling us to get one step closer to not only grow our company substantially, but to also lead the expansion of the entire digital advertising market in Thailand.”
Relocating from Stockholm, Sweden, Stalberg will be responsible for supporting the company’s organizational expansion to keep up with clients demand, and contribute to growth outside Thailand. Stalberg officially joined mInteraction Thailand in March 2012, after spending the past four years in Sweden working with mobile marketing and cloud-based digital content services.
According to the agency, Thailand is already known for its creative services for the traditional media industry. However digital ad spend is barely 2 percent of the total, as was reported in 2011. Now mInteraction plans to drive and support the Thai digital creative industry and be known as a creative centre of excellence. The agency plans to make most of the growth that is expected to take place in the digital advertising market – a share of around 5 percent – in the next 12 to 18 months.
