Omnicom Media Group China has made key agency leadership changes designed to drive continued growth in their agencies, OMD and PHD. Aaron Wild, current CEO of PHD China, has been appointed to the role of CEO, OMD China. With a clear succession plan in place, Anna Chitty, current Managing Director for PHD China, has been promoted to the CEO role at PHD.
This move is in sync with Omnicom Media Group’s commitment to invest, nurture and grow talent from within and making their agencies the best place to work.
Mr Wild has worked at PHD since 2010 and served as their CEO since late 2013. During his tenure PHD has seen enormous growth, doubling the size of its business and winning over 100 worldwide media awards.
“Aaron is a proven leader who has delivered fantastic results for PHD. We wanted the best leader we could find for the OMD CEO role and Aaron was not only our No 1 choice but he is, as always, completely up for the challenge,” said Doug Pearce, CEO, Omnicom Media Group China.
“OMD has always stood for powerful, creatively-led, insight-driven work for our clients. We have looked across both geographies and disciplines to find our new China CEO – but Aaron has always been our number 1 choice. He is someone who epitomises the passion and drive that has made OMD the number 1 agency in the Gunn Report for 11 years running, and I am delighted to welcome him on board as our new China CEO,” said Stephen Li, APAC CEO, OMD.
“OMD is a network that has established itself as a phenomenally strong agency on the back of a culture of growth leveraging the best of innovation, creativity, and results. This is an exciting opportunity and I am thrilled to embrace it, working alongside a bunch of talented people,” said Aaron Wild. “I have loved my time at PHD and I am happy to say I leave it not only a bigger, better and stronger agency but more importantly in the hands of a brilliant team of people who will continue to run it based on a culture of ‘finding a better way,” Mr Li added.
“Aaron and Anna have had a fantastic partnership at PHD for many years and Anna has proven herself to be a great leader in her own right. She was the natural and only choice to take the reins and will bring her own unique leadership style to the role,” added Mr Pearce.
“Anna has contributed immensely to PHD’s growth and success in China and she is exactly the type of talent we need to lead PHD into the future. It’s a well-deserved promotion and a testament to our talent development program that we can make an internal appointment for such a crucial position in one of our priority markets. With Anna’s drive, energy and passion, PHD China is sure to scale new heights of excellence and growth,’’ commented Susana Tsui, APAC CEO, PHD.
“PHD has a unique point of difference amongst media agencies in China, with a powerful strategic product and a culture of innovation. We have built an agency fueled by a diverse group of voices, reflecting our reputation for nurturing world class talent and delivering award-winning, business focused solutions for our clients. With over 10 years’ experience in the Group, I’m very excited about leading PHD into the future, and the opportunities that are ahead,” said Ms Chitty.
Both Mr Wild and Ms Chitty will transition into their new roles from March 20, 2017.
