Omny Studio, creators of the on-demand audio publishing platform for broadcasters and enterprise podcasters, has entered into an agreement with Rubicon Project, the global exchange for advertising, to expand its video monetisation options in order to deliver industry-standard video pre-roll ads across podcast listens on the web.
“By tapping into premium video ad inventory, we can now maximise the revenue potential for our podcast publisher’s web traffic and connect more advertisers with highly engaged podcast consumers,” said Mitch Secrett, Head of Business Development of Omny Studio. “We’re excited to work with Rubicon Project, a leader in this space, to offer this additional revenue stream as a turn-key solution for our customers.”
Omny Studio customers can connect their podcast with Rubicon Project’s premium video advertising marketplace to open-up an additional revenue stream from their on-demand audio content. Video advertising can be enabled as a skippable or non-skippable pre-roll for Omny Studio’s embedded podcast players on both desktop and mobile. Targeting is available by user’s location, network, show and associated episode and show metadata. Every publisher that opts into the service will also be able to customise the types of advertisers they wish to include, specify a floor-price and set their ideal ad length.
“Podcasting is Australia’s fastest growing on-demand audio medium, which means an increasing number of advertisers are keen to connect with engaged listeners,” said Rohan Creasey, Country Manager ANZ, at Rubicon Project. “This collaboration will enable brands to leverage video advertising inventory via Omny’s embed players; a simple and cost-effective way to create value for advertisers and publishers alike.”
The ability to run pre-roll video ads on Omny’s embed players is available today for all Omny Studio customers around the globe. Omny and Rubicon Project aim to extend the integration to include programmatic audio podcasts ads in 2019.
