Optimedia wins Kao’s media business in Malaysia

Leading Malaysian household and personal products maker Kao has appointed Optimedia Malaysia as its media agency partner. The agency will now take on media planning and buying for Kao Malaysia’s portfolio of popular personal care and household product brands that include Biore, Laurier, Liese, Asience and Kao Attack among others.

On appointing Optimedia Malaysia, Murakami Yoshihiro of Kao Malaysia, said, “We’re pleased to be working with Optimedia Malaysia, which displayed the attributes and strategies necessary to further evolve our media development. As joint brand custodians and specialists in the field of media, with respectable local clout, we’re looking forward to a fruitful and successful partnership ahead with Optimedia Malaysia to further grow our brands’ in the market.”

According to Optimedia, the appointment happened after a detailed review. On partnering with Kao Malaysia, Wong Piyee, managing director of Optimedia Malaysia, added, “This appointment could not have been possible without the talented and passionate team that was driving the pitch and subsequently, working on the business.
