Reprise Media Australia wants to grow its capabilities in media innovation and grow business in the Search segment, and that is why over the last two weeks the agency has appointed three senior management executives. The agency has named Chris Ernst as the agency’s first performance director; and has appointed Andrew Hughes as innovation and technology director and David Coats as SEO director.
Talking about the new appointments Craig Ellis, CEO, Reprise MediaAustralia said, “The rapid evolution of SEO dictates that we continue to expand our skills base and business momentum. Our clients’ online needs are always evolving and we’re moving to accommodate the new dynamics. Chris will be a valuable addition to our leadership team, joining David Coats as SEO director and Andrew Hughes as innovation and technology director, which were announced last week, as well as Midu Chandra, our Social Director.” The two out of the three senior appointments have been made from the existing talent pool within the company. For instance Ellis comes from UK Reprise Media while Hughes was the SEO director for the agency. Coats comes from Mediacom where he was director of SEO.
In fact Reprise Media placed a whole new focus on technology and innovation by creating a post for that job. Hughes who is going to work as the director of the unit will focus on product development and innovation across channels and to resource clients and agency teams with the best use of technology to bring new ideas and approaches to client campaigns.
Ernst’s key roles will be to lead the agency’s national search team and drive an expanded product offering across other online and direct response channels. Ernst takes up the new role on October 2nd. In Reprise UK he was a key leader in search campaigns for clients including Coca Cola UK and the world’s largest brewer, Ab InBev, across the UK and several European markets. Ernst said, “Reprise Media and Mediabrands in Australia have developed a reputation as both leaders and innovators in the industry and I look forward to working with the team.”
Coats comes to Reprise with an extensive experience in SEO. He was a key driver of growth at iCrossing, one of the UK’s highly regarded SEO agencies before relocating to Australia two years ago. Coats said: “Reprise has made major waves in the Australian SEO industry with their reputation for embracing integration with social media and technology as the future of search. I’m extremely excited to be working alongside Andrew and such a broad range of talent in the Mediabrands agency family and look forward to leading the outstanding SEO team.”
Last month the agency had hired Midu Chandra as its social-media marketing director as the agency continued to position social media more broadly as a business solution in addition to a marketing channel.Chandra’s primary duties are to oversee the agency’s investments in social media monitoring, content, digital community management and social CRM
Now the search and social media agency is accelerating its emphasis on technology and media innovation to focus on digital cross-channel expansion and SEO skills development. “This is a new role for us with an expanded focus outside of paid search. These new senior appointments will add substantial weight to our team and bring new thinking and expertise to our clients’ business challenges,” added Ellis.
