Unilever has appointed Rohit Jawa, the Senior Vice President of Global Marketing Operations at the company, as the Chairman and CEO for Unilever Philippines. To handle his new mandate, Mr Jawa would be based in Manila.
The move comes in the wake of Peter Cowan, the CEO of Unilever Philippines, being appointed Chairman of Unilever South Africa.
Unilever has to yet announce a replacement for Mr Jawa’s role.
Mr Jawa has been with the FMCG giant for over 25 years now. The last change in his role was seen in 2011 when he was appointed to the global marketing operations team, reporting to Unilever COO Harish Manwani. The change was made after the global reorganisation of Unilever that had highlighted the focus that the FMCG major was placing on emerging markets, sustainability and digitisation.
Prior to that, Mr Jawa has held senior roles in various markets for Unilever such as Regional Vice President for laundry and Vice President – Marketing for Unilever Vietnam.
