Sizmek, the buy-side advertising platform, has appointed experienced digital media executive, Damien Thomson to lead its ANZ business, building on the acquisition earlier this year of Rocket Fuel. Mr Thomson will assume the position of Country Manager for Sizmek Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Thomson’s experience spans more than fifteen years in the media industry, holding senior management positions for leading media, software and agency organisations. He has led broadcast and digital teams in ANZ and across the wider APAC region, working with clients such as Seven West Media, SBS, Foxtel, GroupM, Publicis and Westpac.
He was previously Managing Director of Sydney-based media agency, Benedictus Media. Prior to this role, he was Executive Vice President, Asia-Pacific for SintecMedia, a software provider for broadcasters. Mr Thomson also worked as APAC Managing Director of Facilitate Digital for over four years from 2008.
Mr Thomson will also be responsible for Sizmek’s Asia-Pacific financial and commercial operations, spanning Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and China.
“Agencies and advertisers are demanding more transparency and simplicity when it comes to their digital marketing investments. Sizmek’s focus on data enablement, creative optimisation and media execution allows clients to deliver advertising that is deeply personal via an open, independent technology platform,” Mr Thomson said.
“We’re assembling a local team of highly skilled advertising technology leaders that have a proven track record, and enable us to deliver on our vision of expertly blending media, creative and data for our customers. Damien brings a wealth of industry experience and expertise with him. I’m very excited to have him join the Sizmek leadership team and set the company up for further growth in 2018 and beyond,” said Kees de Jong, Sizmek APAC General Manager.
Sizmek acquired Rocket Fuel in September, bringing AI-enabled decisioning technology to its creative optimisation and data activation platform.
