SMG appoints Hanley King to drive growth in Asia Pacific

Starcom MediaVest Group has appointed Hanley King as Global Network Clients (GNC) lead for Asia-Pacific. He will spearhead and drive further expansion for SMG’s global clients across the region. Based in Singapore, King will work closely with SMG’s global and regional leadership. This includes Bill Tucker, president of Global Client Operations and John Sheehy, president of Global Operations, as well as Bertilla Teo, CEO Greater China, Jeffrey Seah, country chair, South East Asia, John Sintras, CEO Australia, Malli CR, CEO India plus the network’s other existing GNC account leads.

In fact, with this appointment SMG is gearing up to push for better client engagement with the GNCs, which will take steam in 2013. The agency plans to work on and improve its Human Experience vision to meet the needs and demands of its key clients while delivering against consumer expectations in the region. On King’s appointment, Tucker said, “As we continue to move forward and drive our GNC growth momentum in 2012 and the upcoming year, one key area which we have identified, to focus and expand on, is to leverage our extensive GNC expertise and AOR relationships from all across the globe for the Asia-Pacific region, knowing that this is a thriving and important region for all our GNC as well.” Some of SMG’s key global clients in Asia-Pacific include Avon, Bank of America Merril Lynch, Coca-Cola, Emirates, Mars-Wrigley, Mead Johnson, Novartis, P&G, RIM, Samsung and UBS among others.

King comes to SMG after a stint with Universal McCann where he has worked as regional president for Central and Eastern Europe.
