Tangrams, Asia’s regional effectiveness and strategy awards, has named the first two Jury Presidents for the Effectiveness and Media Strategy juries.
David Porter, Vice President Global Media – Asia, Africa, Middle east, Turkey & Russia for Unilever will lead the Effectiveness Jury. Mr Porter is responsible for one of the largest media budgets in a diverse region spanning 14 time zones. He is responsible for driving the company’s innovation in Communications Channel Planning with a strong focus on Unilever’s development as a major force in digital marketing in the region.
“Tangrams is a great competition and I am thrilled to be on the team looking at this year’s Effectiveness entries. As a marketer with media planning roots, I see effectiveness as the ultimate goal of all our work. I’ll be looking out for entries that make me jealous, that make me and other jurors wish that we had thought of it first. I’m expecting us to see work of the very highest quality as APAC is proving itself more than capable of world-class standards in this area,” Mr Porter added.
Josephine Tan, Global Media Director for McDonald’s will preside over the Media Strategy Jury. Ms Tan is currently Global Media Director at McDonald’s where she is responsible for driving digital acceleration and activation, with a focus on data & technology, to deliver personalised consumer connections and communication. She also led digital product marketing for McDelivery with the McDonald’s owned ordering platforms — web and app, and was instrumental in elevating the customer experience from a functional to seamless consumer-first approach.
“I’m thrilled to take on the role of Jury President. The media landscape has changed drastically in such a short period of time which poses unique challenges and opportunities to all players in the industry. I’m really looking forward to seeing the best and most innovative media strategies put forward from the region.”
Commenting on the appointments, Joe Pullos, Festivals Director, says “I’m really excited to have David and Josephine onboard as Jury presidents for Tangrams in 2018. It’s a huge compliment to the awards to have such highly experienced, international leaders from global brands with a deep understanding of the region to lead the discussions in the intensive judging process.
