Veteran advertising professional and Chairman of WPP India, Ranjan Kapur passed away in Mumbai, India on January 27, 2018. Mr Kapur was also the former Country Manager of WPP India and was replaced by CVL Srinivas in 2017.
With over four decades of service in advertising, Mr Kapur started his career with Citibank and served long stints in senior positions at Ogilvy & Mather India Private Limited (O&M) before retiring in 2003.
Ogilvy India said in a statement, “Ranjan Kapur passed away suddenly of a massive cardiac arrest. Ranjan’s passing away is a huge loss to our industry. Ogilvy has lost an outstanding champion and incredible leader. May his soul rest in peace.”
Mr Kapur was honored with the Industry’s Lifetime Achievement Award from AAAI in 2008 for his contribution to the advertising industry.
