A look back at 15 acquisitions of 2015

With an average of more than three acquisitions happening around the world every month, the year of 2015 seemed to be a year of consolidation. Or was it? Conglomerates like Dentsu Aegis Network, WPP, Facebook, Amazon and Alibaba Group among many others have had a shopping spree, making strategic and tactical company acquisitions to develop a foothold in untouched categories and promising markets.

A general trend that Digital Market Asia saw, when it comes to company acquisitions is the thought revolving around mobile technology. One of the major ones being Verizon acquiring AOL or Zomato acquiring US based UrbanSpoon. Hopefully the consolidation trend will continue as the world becomes a ‘glo-cal’ market.
