Carousell has appointed JJ Eastwood as Managing Director for Advertising. JJ will be responsible for building commercial relationships with brands, and leading Carousell’s advertising sales and operations divisions.
JJ’s appointment follows on from the hiring of Lewis Ng as Chief Commercial Officer, as Carousell aims to transform itself into a premium publisher by bolstering value-added services and premium products for clients. JJ is tasked to manage advertising strategy that brings growth and performance to a wide array of clients, spanning from general sectors to high-value verticals such as Cars and Property, and will report directly to Chief Commercial Officer Lewis.

JJ is an adtech veteran who brings years of marketing and leadership experience in driving revenue growth. At eBay, he launched Australia’s largest private programmatic marketplace back in 2012. Following eBay, he established the APAC business for Ad Tech firm Rocket Fuel, moved on to become the CEO of HuffPost Australia and most recently led the expansion of Rakuten Marketing’s programmatic, affiliate and search businesses across Asia-Pacific.
