Cloud communications poised for rampant growth

Global A2P SMS traffic is expected to grow 63 per cent from 1.4 trillion messages in 2013 to 2.19 trillion messages in 2018, according to Nexmo.

Revenue generated from A2P SMS is estimated to grow globally from USD 55.04 billion in 2014 to USD 70.32 billion in 2020. The growth in revenue will be lead by North America, Europe and APAC.

APAC leads in terms of revenue growth with projected 4.6 per cent growth from USD 23.29 billion to USD 30.52 billion. It is followed by North America at projected 3.8 per cent growth from USD 15.13 billion to USD 18.87 billion; and Europe at a projected 3.7 percent growth from USD 11.65 billion to USD 14.48 billion.

The infographic highlights that over 350 billion global SMS messages are sent every month.
