Data pick of the day: Gen Z 40% more likely to follow actors on social

The latest data from GlobalWebIndex shows that young consumers are big celebrity fans and are about 50 per cent more likely than average to be using social media to keep up with their favorite celebrities.

GWI’s chart also showed that beyond people they know in real life, Gen Z are most likely to follow actors – with musicians and comedians featuring in the top five too. This highlights the reach that celebrities have on the millennials and how they can be leveraged for influencer marketing by brands.
