Edelman strengthens strategic planning team in Singapore

Edelman has made two senior Strategy Director appointments in Singapore to further strengthen its strategic planning offering with Brand, Reputation and Digital clients across the agency. Nisha Sivan (pictured) joins as Strategy Director, Brand and Logan Smith as Strategy Director, Digital.

Ms Sivan was most recently Planning Director on the Mastercard and Nestlé Purina regional businesses at McCann Worldgroup. A Psychology graduate of University of Melbourne, her 15-year career has spanned management consulting, advertising and brand consulting across Asia, giving her both breadth and depth of experience in building brands for business impact. She has held client management and strategy roles at Ogilvy, Leo Burnett, Grey and DIA Brands in both Malaysia and Singapore, working on regional giants and local heroes like Qatar Airways, KFC, GSK, Nestlé, Kimberly-Clark, Coca-Cola, Dove, Celcom and Petronas.

“Edelman is not just helping brands earn attention – it is helping brands earn trust. Nurturing this much needed value is key to success in today’s world, right from brand creation to brand experience. Bringing together a strong media heritage, embedded storytelling capabilities, data analytics and a future-focused agenda, it is poised to help clients act with certainty in an ever-changing world. I’m excited to be part of that vision,” said Ms Sivan.

Mr Smith’s career has spanned journalism, digital, PR and advertising across three continents, giving him international experience in helping brands use data-and-insight-driven approaches to build meaningful and relevant connections with people. A Cultural and Creative Industries MA graduate from King’s College London, Mr Smith was most recently Digital Strategy Lead at MullenLowe Singapore, working across clients like Unilever, FrieslandCampina, AkzoNobel, Johnson & Johnson and F&N on a variety of digital strategy projects including integrated campaigns, content marketing and digital transformation. He is no stranger to Edelman having worked in the London office before moving to Singapore.

“I’m thrilled to be boomeranging back to Edelman and joining a vibrant, dynamic strategy team that are ready to help brands and clients take work to the next level, from inception to implementation. In an ever-changing digital world where there is so much choice on what to watch and where to engage, I’ve always believed in Edelman’s approach in developing ideas that put people at the core and help make brands relevant to their lives,” said Mr Smith.

“We weren’t looking to hire conventional talent bound by traditional swim lanes. We were looking for excellent collaborators armed with an entrepreneurial spirit, who know how to create impact in a rapidly changing landscape and who are passionate about data, media and creativity. Logan and Nisha are all of the above and more. I am excited to see them catalyse insight and instinct-driven ideas that are earned at the core, social by design, and work across earned, owned, shared and paid. Their skills fit perfectly with Edelman’s commitment to helping clients solve problems in new ways,” said Remona Duquesne, Chief Strategy Officer for Edelman Singapore.

Ms Sivan and Mr Smith report into Ms Duquesne who joined Edelman in January of this year.
