Instagram hits 2 million monthly advertisers mark

Instagram now has more than two million monthly active advertisers, doubling its advertiser base in the last six months. Mobile video drives growth for the platform as the company data shows that time spent watching video on Instagram is up more than 80 per cent year over year, while the number of videos produced per day has increased by 4X from last year.

A company blog post said, “Our business community has grown to two million advertisers, up from one million advertisers back in March. People come to Instagram every day to share their passions and connect with what matters, and they are spending more time than ever on the platform producing and exploring content, especially mobile video.”

Users under the age of 25 now spend more than 32 mins a day on Instagram, on average. Last month 180 million Instagrammers visited a website, got directions, called, emailed or direct messaged to learn about a business.

In March 2017, Instagram had launched ads on Stories. Over 50 per cent of businesses having produced an Instagram Story in the past month.

“As mobile video continues to evolve the ways advertisers reach and engage customers, Instagram’s immersive family of tools is helping define the future of how people connect with the things that matter,” the blog post added.
