IPG Mediabrands strengthens digital focus in Thailand

To build IPG Mediabrand Thailand’s full service digital capabilities, and streamline the existing digital business, IPG Mediabrand has hired RamaKrishna Raja as head of Digital for Thailand. Ram was hired for this post because of his extensive experience in the digital space. In fact, he has international experience in building digital and integrated capabilities. 

Ram’s expertise includes leading digital teams, driving new business and managing large-scale, digital-driven, multi-modal marketing campaigns for key Fortune 50 clients like Coca-Cola, Maybelline Garnier, Sony Ericsson, Walt Disney, BMW and Chase across geographies. “It’s important to have people in our team who both demonstrate a passion for digital strategy and the skills and experience to back it up. Ram has both and we are pleased to have him lead the digital team,” said Wannee Ruttanaphon, chairman of IPG Mediabrands in Thailand.

Ram joins IPG Mediabrands from IRIS Worldwide where he was heading the digital remit for the India offices. Between 2009 and 2011, he was responsible for building IRIS’ digital capability in India and led several pitches to win key digital AOR clients in the market. He honed his digital expertise at Publicis Dialog in New York where between 2003 and 2006, he was one of the founding team members of Dialog’s digital operations in New York. Talking about his new role, Ram said, “The leadership’s commitment to digital and the exciting prospect of driving digital in a growing market like Thailand – both convinced me to take up this assignment. My focus will be on ensuring that our clients succeed in Digital and get a world-class digital team to enable the same.”
